This year’s theme is “Be More Like Elephants.” Elephants remind us what it means to live in community. They are social, cooperative, protective, loyal to their families, and deeply connected to the landscapes they help shape. These are qualities worth admiring—and qualities we need to embrace if humans and elephants are going to share a future. Coexistence matters. Human-elephant conflict has no winners. Protecting elephants also means recognizing and supporting the communiti
